Prayers to Sri Giri Govardhan
Giri Govardhan, the famous mountain(Giri) that Lord Sri Krishna lifted for seven days and seven nights about 5000 years back to protect his dear devotees, the inhabitants of Vraja from the torrential rain of Indra. Not only did He protect the inhabitants of Vraja but he also protected his devotee Indra from the rains of pride and ego. Millions of devotees worship Govrardhan Hill and circumambulate it daily.
Below are a few verses, prayers to glorify Sri Govardhan :
1. Govardhan — Removes all difficulties and gives topmost joy
namaste girirajaya
sri govardhana namine
ashesha klesha nashaya
paramananda dayine
I offer my respectful obeisances unto the king of all hills, Govardhana Hill (the source of enjoyment for the senses, land, and cows). He is a servant of Krsna and is Krsna Himself. He puts an end to unlimited sufferings and bestows the supreme bliss.

Srimad Bhagavatam — 10.21.18
Of all the devotees, this Govardhana Hill is the best! O my friends, this hill supplies Kṛṣṇa and Balarāma, along with Their calves, cows and cowherd friends, with all kinds of necessities — water for drinking, very soft grass, caves, fruits, flowers and vegetables. In this way the hill offers respects to the Lord. Being touched by the lotus feet of Kṛṣṇa and Balarāma, Govardhana Hill appears very jubilant.
Sri Caitanya Caritamrita explains that Sri Caitanya Mahaprabhu was chanting the above mantra while he was doing Govardhan parikrama (circumambulation)
3. Govardhan — Gives pleasure to cows and senses
govardhana dharam vande
gopalam gopa rupinam
gokulotsavam isanam
govindam gopika priyam
“I offer my respectful obeisances unto the Supreme Lord Sri Krishna, who lifted the Govardhana Hill. He is the maintainer and protector of the cows. He assumed the form of a cowherd boy and performed various transcendental pastimes. He is the great joy and grand festival of Gokula. He is the supreme controller and master of everything and everyone. He gives pleasure to the cows and the senses. He is the beloved of the cowherd damsels of Vrindavan.”
The above mantra is especially recommended to be chanted in the Purushottama adhika month (maas)
